RAGIONE E SENTIMENTO DI FIORELLA MANNOIA, ANZI ROSALBA!

“Avevo già pronto il mio cd di inediti ma ho deciso di fare una sosta e di buttarmi in questo omaggio a Lucio Dalla. Perché ho sentito di doverlo fare: per affetto e per tanto altro”. Così ha affermato Fiorella Mannoia presentando la sua ultima fatica dal titolo A TE, una rilettura di una manciata di capolavori del grande cantautore bolognese. E ha continuato spiegando: “L’ho voluto realizzare alla vecchia maniera, dal vivo. Le registrazioni tradizionali degli album in studio mi hanno un po’ stufata. Trovarsi a cantare in mezzo all’orchestra è più adrenalinico e ognuno dà il meglio di sé”.
Per la scelta dei brani afferma di aver fatto molta fatica: alcuni li ha scelti per affetto come Cara e Anna e Marco, che lei e Lucio avevano cantato insieme tante volte, altri perché li ha sempre amati, ma la difficoltà è stata nel cantarli, perché, spiega, non tutti si sono resi conto dell’estensione vocale che raggiungeva Dalla. Lei non ce l’ha per cui ha dovuto rinunciare con la morte nel cuore a brani come Apriti cuore, dove la voce va tanto giù.
Ho ascoltato e riascoltato bene il disco e mi è venuta in mente una grandissima banalità… com’è lontana la ragione dal cuore! Perché sulle affermazioni di Fiorella ne avrei da ridire un sacco. Prima cosa io comincio a essere un po’ stufo di tutti questi live. Così facili da realizzare… e soprattutto di tutte queste cover che possiamo cantare a memoria fin dalla prima strofa. E con Dalla, in particolare, la gara è durissima perché siamo tutti troppo affezionati alle sue straordinarie interpretazioni. Ci hanno accompagnato dagli anni settanta a oggi. Fanno oramai parte del nostro dna. Guai a chi le tocca! Poi non c’è bisogno di cantare le canzoni di Lucio per accorgersi che aveva una gran voce. Nessuno è sordo. Questa è la “ragione”.
Poi però arriva il “cuore” perché in questa “manovra di Fiorella” che da lontano puzza alquanto di operazione commerciale c’è talmente tanta bravura, compostezza, rigore, in una parola, amore, che come una freccia arriva dritta al cuore!
A TE è un bel disco. Una bella rilettura, che a prescindere dall’affetto per il grande cantautore recentemente scomparso, riporta per certi versi alla Fiorella Mannoia che vinse “Premiatissima” con la cover Margherita. Ve la ricordate? Eravate Nati?
Ad accompagnare Fiorella “l’Orchestra Sesto Armonico” e ben cinque sono stati gli arrangiatori, Peppe Vessicchio (Cara), Pippo Caruso (Caruso e Anna e Marco), Stefano Zavattoni (Sulla rotta di Cristoforo Colombo e Se io fossi un angelo), Marcello Sirignano (Chissà se lo sai, Milano, Felicità) e Paolo Buonvino (La casa in riva al mare e La sera dei miracoli). Loro hanno aggiunto o tolto alcuni elementi dell’orchestra a loro piacimento.
Fiorella ha ancora affermato “Non ero la migliore amica di Lucio, ma una sua amica comunque. L’ho frequentato nelle sue case di Milo, Bologna e Tremiti. Per lui e Marco (Alemanno) ero Rosalba. Aveva deciso di chiamarmi così e sul suo cellulare ero registrata come Rosalba. Così nel libretto, quella che dice: – Grazie a Lucio per tutto quello che ci ha lasciato, che rimarrà per sempre nei nostri cuori, Rosalba – beh, quella sono io! Lucio era capoccione, testardo, ingombrante ma era unico e avevamo un rapporto di affetto e stima reciproci. In una definizione direi ‘tenero’. Era un cantante vero, che quando apriva bocca piangevi, non solo per quello che diceva ma per come lo cantava. Io ho assorbito molto da lui, tutto quello che potevo. E’ molto curioso il fatto che io, essendo una donna, possa cantare le sue canzoni nella stessa tonalità. La sua voce era così alta e la mia così naturalmente bassa che in ogni mia cover di Lucio la base rimane identica all’originale”.
E veniamo alle singole canzoni.
Una delle più convincenti è La casa in mezzo al mare. Sembra una nuova di Fiorella, tanto è ben interpretata. Il testo, leggermente più lento che nell’originale, appare più poetico che in Dalla. E stessa cosa succede per Se io fossi un angelo: il ritmo più cadenzato e rarefatto ci fa gustare il testo in maniera più efficace. E gli arrangiamenti in entrambi i brani sono gradevolissimi. Come in Sulla rotta di Cristoforo Colombo. Canzone meno nota di tutte quelle del disco, e forse quella che più intriga, proprio per questo motivo. Ci riporta alle atmosfere dolcemente retrò di quel bell’inedito del Live Dalla De Gregori (Work in Progress), il cui titolo è Gran Turismo. Poi c’è quel capolavoro di Caruso che già Mina aveva inciso in Ti conosco mascherina: ne aveva fatta una versione in bilico tra jazz e rock. Anche Milva ci aveva provato con enfasi e passionalità. La sua versione del 1994 si trova in un cd tutto arrangiato da James Last che porta il titolo Dein ist mein ganzes herz. Fiorella canta Caruso in maniera quasi scolastica. Ineccepibile, se vogliamo, convincente, intensa ma la mia preferita rimane comunque l’originale di Lucio Dalla!
Chissà se lo sai è un pezzo che Fiorella definisce meno conosciuto, ma non lo è per chi come me ama Ornella Vanoni che ne fece una splendida rilettura nel 1986, in sala d’incisione a due passi da New York (nel New Jersey). Il disco si chiamava Ornella & , e al sax c’era nientemeno… Chris Hunter!
In Felicità Fiorella duetta in maniera appassionata con Ron che dalle prime note ci provoca un brivido lungo la schiena, tanto la sua voce ricorda quella di Lucio.
Anche Milano, “col suo Olé da torero”, è una bellissima prova, e Anna e Marco convince alla grande. Stella di mare, che apre il concerto è molto coinvolgente. Comunque la punta di tutto l’album secondo me è Cara che la Mannoia nei concerti di quest’anno ha proposto con trasporto emozionando le platee, proprio per ricordare Lucio e per sottolineare il grande vuoto che ha lasciato.
Insomma, avrete capito che questo cd si ascolta che è un piacere, sia da soli a tutto volume, che in sottofondo durantre una cena con gli amici. E non bastasse si può anche guardare, perché è accompagnato (arricchito) anche da un piacevolissimo dvd che ha una straordinaria fotografia (in bianco e nero il concerto registrato a Roma in due giorni, il nove e il dieci settembre di quest’anno) e contiene piccole sorprese, tipo Fiorella (con e senza Marco Alemanno) che ci descrivono un Dalla pazzoide che per raffreddare un cappuccino ci fischiava una canzone. Quella la prima volta che Fiorella lo incontrò in un bar. E diventò Rosalba. Nel video Ron rivela pure che Lucio creò Occhi di ragazza per mandarlo a cantare a Sanremo in coppia con Sandie Shaw, nel 1970. Il resto non voglio anticiparlo. E’ un susseguirsi di chicche.
Due riserve: la copertina ha poco impatto e discutibile la performance di Alessandra Amoroso. Più che “questione di feeling”, direi “questione di marketing”!
