MINA CHRISTMAS, CAMPANELLINI SI’, CAMPANELLINI NO…

Da anni aspettavamo che Mina ci regalasse il brivido natalizio. Ma che dico anni. Decenni.
Così abbiamo avuto modo e soprattutto tempo (tutto il novecento) per immaginarcelo questo Natale di “casa Mazzini”. Come? In tanti modi, anche troppi, con campanellini che trillano e tintinnano da tutte le parti, slitte che scorrazzano e scarrozzano avanti e indietro sui solchi (del microsolco), e spazzole, e trombe e clarini e clarinetti, e arpe pizzicate, e cori di bambini e languidi violini, e insomma chi più ne ha più ne metta.
Ma tutta questa coreografia del Natale, (palle e abeti, luci colorate intermittenti e Babbi Natale che scavalcano i balconi) a Mina è mai piaciuta? Parrebbe proprio di no. Anzi, quando ha potuto qualche frecciatina avvelenata l’ha scagliata (Ridi Pagliaccio): “Arriva di nuovo Natale, si insegna i bambini a mentire…si porge una guancia, si allunga una mancia, scordando però il male di pancia… oggi è Natale, passati due giorni però te la faccio pagare!”.
Per non parlare della sfigata Viglilia di Natale di Frutta e verdura (1973): “Ma sotto il mio albero, Papà Natale non passerà… e vorrei avergli scritto anch’io… un foglio mio, col nome tuo e in fondo addio, amore mio addio!” (arrangiava il grande Pino Presti).
Eppure “la nostra” tante frecciate le ha scagliate anche contro l’estate…
(Odiando l’estate più di Bruno Martino non metto fuori nemmeno un dito fino a sera tardi. Infatti il mio colorito è tra l’azzurrino e un biglietto del tram. Uso un pre-sole formidabile. Il soffitto, il tetto di casa mia. Sapere che ho davanti mesi di caldo e di sole che mi brucia gli occhi, che mi ustiona l’umore, mi abbatte. Sogno già il primo maglioncino, le prime piogge e il primo cielo grigio. Mi dicono che non sono tanto normale. Le finestre aperte, il rumore degli zoccoli, le magliette sudate, le donne vestite in turchese perché fa risaltare l’abbronzatura, la paletta con il secchiello, i ciclisti di stagione che circolano come degli ubriachi, le gite in barca, persino la musica che ti viene in casa da chissà quale festa awaiana mi fanno orrore. Vanity Fair).
Dunque arguisco che le piaccia la mezza stagione. Ma come si dice, non esiste più la mezza stagione!
E allora?
Allora, noi poveri metereopatici mortali, avevamo proprio perso le speranze.
Nelle nostre compilaton di Natale, grondanti e ridondanti di Diane Ross, Natalie Cole, Franchi Sinatra, Barbre Straisand, Michaeli Boubléé e compagnia bella mancava sempre una Mina con le palle (di Natale).
Non potevamo mica infilarci le performances live di Canzonissima sessantotto con applausi e cori da lotteria di Panelli e Chiari!
Nel 2000 dopo Cristo, con Dalla terra arriva un debolissimo segnale a proposito del Bambin Gesù. Quanno nascette ninno, cioè Tu scendi dalle stelle in versione originale-dialettale. Un po’ pochino, in verità, nonostante la purezza e la delicatezza del pezzo.
Con Caramella + bonus Strenna di Natale (2010) arriva un segnale più forte. Mele Kalikimaka, un gioiello inaspettato e molto divertente, (che begli ukulele e che atmosfere hawaiane!) e in accoppiata una intima e malinconica Silent Night. Un altro piccolo grande cadeau natalizio: Have Yourself a Merry Little Christmas ci arriva inaspettatamente l’anno scorso, in 12 American Songbook.
E finalmente ecco il tanto desiderato disco di Natale di Mina. Anno Domini 2013! Tutti pronti al grande ascolto e ad aprire le scatole con i pastori, le decorazioni, e il bellissimo cd dove appare una Mina Paperina Uak illustrata dal Cavazzano della Disney, ma…
Accidenti! Non ci sono campanellini neanche in Jingle Bell Rock. Manco in Let it Snow! Possibile? Come sarebbe a dire! Un disco di Natale Jazz? Ma la Mina è fuori?
No. Mina non è mai fuori. Il disco si apre con due pezzi molto soft a dir poco straordinari, poi si sviluppa in una alternanza di classici e divertissement leggermente swingati. Regna ovunque il rigore, l’essenziale, il minimal. Un filo di voce e un filo di piano, un filo di viola, un filo di chitarra. In linea con i tempi scarni che stiamo vivendo, un filo di valori morali e un filo di creatività.
E’ vero, al primo ascolto si può rimanere un po’ spiazzati.
Ma ascoltatelo tutto, più volte questo straordinario Mina Christmas song book. E riascoltatelo. Vedrete che vi piacerà ogni volta sempre di più. Ve lo giuro.
Appaiono come d’incanto sfumature nella voce di Mina che non si erano colte subito. E questa è una specie di magia. Un incantesimo. L’incantesimo del Natale di Mina. Il vero Secret of Christmas, tanto per citare il pezzo forse “più meraviglioso” di questa ultima sua fatica.
Piacevolissima la performance di Fiorello, (duetta con Mina in Baby, it’s Cold Outside). Ma mi è venuto da pensare a come sarebbe stato straordinario anche un duetto con Mario Biondi e proprio oggi, manco a farlo apposta, su un quotidiano ho letto queste sue parole:
“In Dreaming land, uno dei due inediti del mio disco di Natale, Mario Christmas, avrei ospitato volentieri Mina, ma quando ho letto che stava già registrando un suo disco di Natale e che aveva detto no a una proposta di Gianni Morandi, ho pensato di rimandare il nostro incontro a un’altra volta. Stiamo diventando degli eterni promessi sposi, visto che tre anni fa, nell’album Caramella avrei dovuto incidere il duetto You Get Me, poi andato a Seal. Gli impegni promozionali del mio album IF infatti mi costrinsero a dirle di no. Col cuore a pezzi.”
Il disco Natalizio appena uscito di Mario è tutto un trillo e un campanello tra zampogne e panettoni, archi, luci intermittenti, cori e frenesia della festa.
Una delizia che “profuma” di Swing, di allegria, di renne di pupazzi e di palle di neve.
Un duetto Mina Biondi, dunque? Quanto sarebbe bello e interessante un disco intero. Mario ha una voce troppo sexy e una cultura-bravura musicale esagerata. Pensatele insieme queste due voci da infarto! Come dicono in Toscana, sarebbe la volta che ci potremmo “togliere la sete col prosciutto!”.
Concludendo, a proposito della buona musica da ascoltare durante le imminenti feste natalizie, cito una frase di Cinzia Leone dalla tanto rimpianta “Tivù delle ragazze” perché mi sembra un’ottima ricetta: “te pigli qualcosa per stare su sei sei troppo giù, (Mario Christmas), e qualcosa per tornare giù, se sei andato troppo su, (Mina Christmas Song Book)!
